Department
The Interactive team at Nickelodeon UK creates award winning content for all the interactive services on Nick, Nicktoons and Nick Jr, for our three website and interactive services. The team is made up of a Director, Production Manager, Digital Manager, Two Producers, a Designer and a Production Assistant.

The successful applicant will report into the Production Manager and will be responsible for all aspects of Nickelodeon’s technical work.

Job Description/Responsibilities:
Currently based at our Rathbone place offices in Central London, the role of the Digital Developer is to build interactive output, websites and templates using client side coding technologies, and configuring ASP Scripts and Flash Actionscript. This role has responsibility for:

• Complete the technical components of projects according to the agreed specifications on editorial, technical, quality and time requirements.
• Provide expert advice to internal and external teams on client side development technology and project-related issues.
• With the Production Manager and Designer, oversee an internal and external production schedule for the team.
• Along with the Production Manager, develop Technical Project Management strategies and tools to help externals work with the Nickelodeon.
• Manage scope, schedules and a finite set of resources to ensure projects are delivered to Nickelodeon’s expectations.
• Develop the skills and processes of non-technical team members.
• Keep abreast of standards and guidelines and make sure Nickelodeon’s sites follow them.
• With the Designer, help the digital team to become as efficient and productive as possible, re-using solutions as far as we can within a CMS environment

Key Attributes

The successful applicant will have the following skills:
• Excellent HTML and CSS skills.
• Great scripting knowledge, in JavaScript, ActionScript, AJAX and ASP/.net
• Knowledge and experience of the capacities of Server Side Scripts, and the ability to configure them to our purposes.
• Excellent written and spoken communication skills.
• Knowledge and experience of development processes and best practice on large scale applications.
• Experience of supporting, implementing, maintaining and documenting existing and new systems and code bases developed by others.
• Experience of working in environment where projects have to be delivered to specific timescales.
• An ability to rapidly and effectively understand and translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Experience in multimedia and creative environments.
• An appreciation of Nickelodeon’s output and the potential for interactive technologies to enhance offerings.

The following areas are desirable:
• Good knowledge of databases (MSSQL)
• Expert scripting knowledge
• Interest in children’s content
