The weather might be trying to make us all think of autumn already but it has its work cut out as seemingly the entire digital world leaves the office behind and embarks on all manner of summer shindigs.

Digital agency Outside Line celebrated its tenth anniversary with a fun-filled group stay at the luxurious Stoke Place. In an interesting twist to the Olympics theme, games consisted of the likes of who can kick a Space Hopper the furthest. However, the Space Hopper had its revenge, bouncing creative director Greg Findon to the local A&E with a broken collarbone.

The agency didn’t forget the importance of its clients during all the frolics, though, including their products in events such as Squirty Cream and Lurpak art, and culminating in company founders Ant Cauchi and Lloyd Salmons locked in combat to try to squeeze into a Top Shop dress. Presumably their eagerness to win wasn’t down to some subconscious desire to unleash their inner Kate Moss, but because they were all too aware that among the prizes handed out that evening was the opportunity for staff members to switch offices with one of them for ten days.

Also celebrating their parklife were the staff of ad network Unanimis, who, in a situation not unlike new media age’s annual summer outing to the same location, braved the ominous clouds for their sports day in London’s Regent’s Park. However, they proved themselves to be much more energetic than the nma-ers, by doing a bit more than just huddling under a tree for a few hours, cradling cans of lager like teenagers on a Friday night. The Unanimis programme included all the classics, such as sack, egg-and-spoon and three-legged races, as well as fan-favourite tug-of-war.

With so much cause to ’sing when you’re winning’, or even when not, Gadders enjoys a bit of karaoke as much as the next person, so was pleased to hear that a senior comms person, fresh into his new role at Sky, appeared to get caught up with the hype of Sky1’s new talent show Must Be The Music and let loose at a karaoke night last week. Reports are that he was rapping his heart out to songs by Jay-Z and Eminem. He admitted his voice was a tad hoarse for the following three days, but that he’s hoping to “expand his repertoire” in time for the next session. Good on him.
